Just getting started with PE Special Edition

I like playing CM and thought it would be nice to be in the middle of the action. I realize there are some very popular mods to install, but at the moment I am just getting started with the basic game. I am just screwing around for the moment and learning the game. Two things which I noticed that I wanted to ask about. First, my AI gunner seems to have a lot of trouble hitting targets at close range. Is it supposed to be like that? Second, I notice that the AI tanks like to fire into an obstruction over and over again rather than clearing it. I have seen that in other tank sims as well. Is that also to be expected? Thanks.

They are bugs in the 1998 era AI logic When you play billiards at the pub, you must also play the quirks of the table. When you play PE, you must also play the quirks of the engine, BUT game crashing is unexceptable.

The poor aim is a result of trying to ensure that the AI is not perfect. The second is a current project that has improvements but is still being worked on. Welcome to PE

Can someone please clarify the multiplayer capabilities of this version? I heard someone mention that it won't do co-op. What does that mean exactly compared to the original PE MP capabilities?

PESE upped the limit to I think 16. There are no other changes to the multi player. The only AI in MP is the player wingman so the games are limited to death match and capture the flag.
