MicroSoft DirectX version 9.0c is required. Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 users may need to set windows98 compatibility mode. You may also need to disable EAX detection in the sound configuration menu. Many aspects of the engine have been improved. Lieutenant-Colonel Jan 5 12 6:06 PM 2nd Lieutenant	Crap, I just noticed the calibrration of the US guns was not updated after the last chang to the optics rrf attributes. ~~,Crap, I just noticed the US main gun optics are missing an object attribute that screws up the ballistics. Lieutenant-Colonel Jan 5 12 10:06 PM 2nd Lieutenant	The Panther G zoom is working correctly. In real life, the range scale is unreadable at 5x magnification. The gunner would range the optics in 2.5x and then switch to 5x. Optics that are marked as 5 power only are the only ones that are 5x when you first enter the view. Trooper Jan 27 12 10:16 PM	Hello Brit44, I have had Panzer Elite SE for a decade now, and the unmodded version runs great on Windows XP (when using combatibility Mode). I have used all of the Mods available at PEDG over the years, and they are all very worth while, they bring the Tank Sim closer to perfection. One Problem, I cannot get this Mod to run, after the Panzer Elite loading screen finishes loading, the screen simply goes Black. Are there any special settings needed in the 3D & Sound Setup Menu? I placed the PE-X in the Mod Enabler (all by itself), but I get Black Screen. Sounds like a Video Problem (maybe?), any suggestion would be helpful, thanks much. Lieutenant-Colonel Jan 27 12 11:03 PM 2nd Lieutenant	DirectX 9.0c and DirectX9.0c compatible video card are required. Software rendering is not supported. Delete "PE"\data\settings.hal and rerun 3dconfig.exe. You must use Direct3D rendering. Software rendering is not supported. Try a 16bit color resolution. Try setting the view range to near. This will use the least abount of ram. The last time I was told of a similar error, the player was trying to use a laptop with a built in video card and a beta version of PEx that required hardware processing of verticies. PEx now supports this type of video card. There should not be anything else special. Open "PE"\Data\PE_MENUSYSTEM.INI with notepad and change the line "Debug=NO" to "Debug=YES". This will save the entire "PE\Data\Desertfoxlog.txt file. PM me the contents of the error log and the basic information of your computer. You should only use win98 compatibility mode if PE does not run without it set. PE Mods Edited 1 time by Brit44 Aldo Jan 27 12 11:18 PM.

Lieutenant-Colonel Jun 12 12 2:13 AM 2nd Lieutenant	A ballistic bug in MP, that I am working on is impact over 1000 meters. I had thought this was unique to PEx until my recent work to get my old win98 computer back on my network. Reverting back to basics, I managed to get PE 1.2 working over the LAN. I left the AI active, so the spotting range was 1600 meters. Please let me know if you also notice that the shooter of 1K+ shots shows a non damaging impact, but the target player shows the shell short and to his right. Hope life is treating you well Karl. Glad to hear from you. Edit: Found the bugs. The turret rotation and main gun rotation was truncated between clients. I also added a check to the MP lobby so you will know if your landscape matches the host. German version of PE will crash when attempting the firing range. The simple fix is to rename the txt file from brit5_3firingrange from English.txt to German.txt *I work by appointment only, and I do NO work for Socialists.* I do not exist for the state.
